Lorde has won Best International Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards.
Also nominated in the category were Janelle Monae, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Pink.
Lorde took the opportunity to acknowledge her fellow nominees by saying, "Thank you to the strong, intelligent, inspiring women in this category", before going to on call the win a "priceless surprise".
Earlier in the evening, Lorde performed her hit single Royals with Disclosure, an electro duo who also made big waves in 2013.
