The Heavy Metal Ninjas have been announced as the opening act for the upcoming Shihad shows. The Heavy Metal Ninjas are fresh to the scene, just coming off headlining the Guitar Extravaganza Tour with ex-Blindspott guitarist Brandon Reihana in May 2010 which included shows in Auckland and Tauranga.
The Heavy Metal Ninjas are a 5 piece heavy instrumental band capturing a style of music that has been untouched in New Zealand until now. Made up of heavy gut-wrenching riffs, fast guitar, angelic orchestrated melodies and a live show that is just intense on the eyes, as well as the ears.The Heavy Metal Ninjas are Richie Allan on lead guitar, Minor 5th (Stu Kora) on rhythm and backing solo guitar, Joe Brownless on drums, Fran Kora on bass guitar and Quasar (Laughton Kora) on Rhythm/stunt guitar and keys.
HMN supported Mt Eden Dub Step & KORA early June and are supporting act for the Shihad tour in Christchurch and Auckland end of July and early August, also a Friday 13th August midnight session at the prestigious G-Taranaki Guitar Festival (featuring Slash, Vinnie Moore) in New Plymouth.
