They may have won big at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards but that’s not stopping the Mint Chicks from taking it easy and resting on their laurels.

They’re out on the road taking in 5 dates before Christmas – you can catch them at Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch and Auckland – all before the big fat fella drops in.

They took out Album of the Year at the 2007 Music awards with Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No! as well as best group and best rock album so it’s fair to say that the fever for this band is continuing apace.

In 2006, the Mint Chicks played support for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They were also part of the New Zealand line-up for Big Day Out 2004, 2005 and 2007. In 2005, it was notable that Kody Nielson wielded a chainsaw on stage and destroyed a sponsor's sign with it.

On 24 October 2007, it was announced on the band's website that their bassist Michael Logie will be leaving the band when they relocate to Portland. The group will be continuing as a trio. So you need to make sure you check out their live show and enjoy them at their best!

Talking of the Big Day Out, we thought you’d best know something the organisers have told us. The promoters of the Big Day Out in Auckland have announced that they will not be honouring a significant number of Big Day Out tickets that have been stolen. The stolen ticket numbers are listed below and can be found online at www.bigdayout.com

As part of the Big Day Out’s anti-scalping initiative for 2008, barcode scanners will be in operation at all Mt Smart stadium gates this year. The concert promoters are warning that patrons with tickets with numbers corresponding to the stolen tickets will be denied entry to the concert.

It is possible that people have these tickets thinking that they have been purchased legally from an authorized outlet. The promoters are therefore urging anyone who has bought tickets in the past four weeks to check their ticket number against the list of stolen tickets. If you do find yourself in possession of a ticket listed as stolen, you should return it to the place of purchase.

The stolen tickets are as follows - 000744 - 000750- 007269 - 007270- 011236 - 011237- 028442 - 028450- 032165 - 032166- 032232 - 032235- 032389 – 032390- 032551 - 032552- 032829 - 032850- 033604 - 033650- 034055
