Well there's been plenty of rumbling in the South Island recently what with the quakes and aftershocks.... but it looks like the largest rumble has been saved for Christchurch for today.

After months of waiting, it's finally here - Southern Amp 2 looks likely to repeat the success of the 2005 event. This time with over 12 hours of non-stop live music on 3 separate stages from 35 bands and DJs, the show is bound to have something for everyone.

The Rock Main Stage will feature 10 acts between 11.00am and 10.30pm and the line up includes Shihad, Evermore, The Black Seeds, Atlas, Thirsty Merc, Opshop, dDub, the Veils and the Dukes to name but a few.

The Edge & Ministry Of Sound Stage (located in a huge specially constructed enclosed super-marquee) will feature 12 artists & DJs. As we all know, Ministry of Sound is the most recognisable dance music brand in the world. MOS Australia will host their own Stage once again this year at Southern Amp 2 featuring some of the best NZ & Australian club acts including Scribe, Concord Dawn with MC Tiki, Kid Kenobi and MC Shureshock.

And local Christchurch talent also gets a major look in with a third stage fully dedicated to the cream of the local scene. Some of those rocking will be Charlie Ash, HeavyJones, Gasoline Cowboy, The Enright House and Ed Muzik.

It seems inevitable that with such a great line up as this, Southern Amp 3 seems only like a matter of time - however, let's not get ahead of ourselves and let's rock on to Southern Amp 2 this weekend!
