Lips

Characterised by a giant pair of lips on legs, Lips is the musical project of Auckland born Stephanie Brown and West Virginia native Fen Ikner.

After forming in NYC three years ago, they were awarded the Silver Scroll Award (New Zealand’s most prestigious songwriting award) for their song “Everything To Me”. They have since split their time between New Zealand, where they have been arranging and performing the music for the immensely successful play Daffodils, and Brooklyn NY, where they write, record, and play live.

Performing as just a two piece, without the use of “press play” backing tracks, they create a full, rich tapestry of analog synth, quirky energetic drums, and electronic colorings.

Lips has released two EPs to date (“Look, Listen” in 2012, and “Ghosts and Demons” in 2013), and their new single “Traces of Teddy” is taken from their debut full-length album which will come out in early 2016.
