THERAPY: A Musical Comedy

Presented by Aubyn Live Theatre and Good for Her Productions

True crime fun-facts, realising you joined a cult and boldly announcing your intrusive thoughts. Yeah - we sing about these things.

THERAPY is making its way to Aubyn Live Theatre hot off the back of sold out seasons in Dunedin and Christchurch, and following its debut at BATS for the 2025 New Zealand Fringe Festival.

This one (and a half) woman musical follows said woman's visits to therapy with the hope of a quick fix for dizzy-spells. She spends a few sessions avoiding serious questions, laughing about being human, and finally addressing something from her past she's ignored for too long. The show is based on real events, with script and score by Chelsea McRae, Mario Sadra de-Jong and Cody McRae.

“The audience’s laughter made it clear we had all put our foot in our mouths before.” – BROADWAY WORLD
“THERAPY celebrates the messy parts of personhood, holding space for the non-linearity of trauma and healing.” – THEATREVIEW
“THERAPY represents the tortuous voyage towards self discovery. Its air of whimsy makes the pill successfully palatable.” - OTAGO DAILY TIMES

Dates:
Wednesday 5 March 2025, 7.30pm
Thursday 6 March 2025, 7.30pm

Show runs for 60 minutes with no interval. Food available.
