The Secret Sounds of Nature - EcoFest

Join us for an immersive deep listening sound experience where we will find out what nature sounds like at the micro-scale.

We will start with a talk on “The Voice of Gaia” and compare the sounds of different natural environments. We will then go outside for a sound walk and have a listen to the world around us, using special field microphones and sound equipment.

We will end with a bit of kai and coffee while we take some time to connect with other nature listeners.

This event is part of our Junior Landcare partnership with the Bupa Foundation to promote intergenerational nature-based experiences.

This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Saturday 22 March – Tuesday 22 April 2025. Inspiring climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau, it is hosted in collaboration by EcoMatters, Kaipātiki Project, Beautification Trust and Waiheke Resources Trust.
