Hot on the heels of it's world premiere in the Nelson Fringe Festival, The Elephant In The Room is coming to Takaka.
Got a tiny secret? Something that "happened on tour" that needs to "stay on tour"? Something that might change how your partner see you, if they knew?
Come and meet the elephant in Andy's room. It's wild. This play is a local story (set in Golden Bay) and is inspired by actual events. It spicy, funny, and contains adult themes.
The Elephant In The Room is former radio host Breffni O'Rourke's first play and is based on a story that had her jaw hitting the floor. She's sharing that story in her first play, so that you can decide whether you might also have an "elephant" in your room.
It's a kiwi story of an unexpected OE, adventures, young love and some shocking truths. As the story unfolds, between the laughs and the yarns, you can decide where the truth lies and whether you can learn to love the elephant in the room. *R18 contains adult themes, sexual references and traces of nuts.
Development feedback:
"Seriously? Did that actually happen? Or did the writer make that up?"
"What? Wait! Was the elephant a metaphor or was that bit real?"
"That was funny! I am going to think of this show anytime someone says the number 120 and I will probably laugh"
Written & directed by Breffni O'Rourke
