About the Presenters:
A Nelson-based artisan, Ms Miyake, deeply passionate about Wagashi, will share her extensive collection of Japanese sweet samples and insights gained through years of self-study and practical experience. She contributes to Japan-related events and workshops within the local community, as well as providing traditional tea service and handcrafted Wagashi for the Nelson Miyazu Cherry Blossom Festival. Her dedication and delicate craftsmanship are well-regarded.
Joining her is the esteemed chef from the Japanese Ambassador's residence, Mr Yamaguchi, renowned for his expertise in French cuisine and desserts. Using his professional skills, he will create a traditional Japanese sweet, offering a fascinating cross-cultural culinary demonstration.
