Simon Joyner is a renowned American singer-songwriter who first came to prominence during the lo-fi movement of the early 90’s alongside contemporaries mining similar territory, like Will Oldham, Peter Jefferies, the Mountain Goats, Smog, and Alastair Galbraith. Joyner was championed early by the late British DJ, John Peel, who famously played Joyner’s 1994 LP, “The Cowardly Traveller Pays His Toll”, start to finish on one of his BBC programs. Considered a forefather of the Omaha music scene, he’s been releasing critically acclaimed albums on independent labels for over two decades.

“My favorite poet is Simon Joyner.” – Gillian Welch

Kirikiriroa-based Portland, Oregon ex-pat Brandon De La Cruz will perform solo.

Brandon De La Cruz is a folk artist whose lyricism is uniquely shaped by his interest in mythology, ceremony and RH Blyth’s translations of Japanese haiku. He grew up in the suburbs of Southern California's Inland Empire and has lived and performed regularly in Portland, OR, Berkeley, CA and Aotearoa. In 2024, his performances at Camp A Low Hum and Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki were met with critical acclaim.
