SGCNZ Tai Tokerau Regional Festival

Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand Regional Shakespeare Festival Tai Tokerau is one of 24 similar regional events across New Zealand. These Regional Festivals involve more than half the secondary schools, home schoolers and community youth drama groups in the country. During these Festivals, students perform their reimagining of Shakespeare's plays, in their 5-minute and 15-minute scenes, between late March and the end of Term 1. A Group from both categories from each region is selected from these to go on to participate in the National Festival over King's Birthday weekend in Wellington.

The Festival provides a wonderfully eclectic melange of the creativity of the imaginative rangatahi of New Zealand. A large percentage of the scenes are student-directed. Come and see the way they relish the Bard!
