Join Nate Rigler, Project Lead for Kia Mouriora te Kaiwharawhara – Sanctuary to Sea, for an update on the major restoration projects in the Kaiwharawhara Valley. Learn about the work happening in Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush, who’s involved, and what they’re doing. It’s an inspiring story of collaboration and conservation. This includes a gentle walk down to the stream, where you can see some of this work in action.
You'll follow easy paths and gentle tracks during this walk, making it suitable for most visitors. Sensible walking shoes are recommended for comfort and stability. The event goes ahead rain or shine, so come prepared—please note there are no refunds. The meeting point is Tāne Whakapiripiri (Ōtari visitor centre).
This walk is part of the Autumn guided walk series brought to you by the Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush Trust. This year’s selection offers a varied mix, guided by experts in their fields, that will let you explore and learn about many facets of Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush and New Zealand’s natural biodiversity. Tours are free for Trust members, join today at https://www.owbt.nz/membership-donations/
