Mates not Dates

Skip the small talk with mates not dates, a take on speed dating with the intention of making new friends. Visitors often ask us where to meet other sapphic/queer folk with a desire to grow their social group. We always aim to make our space just that, but will designing this event to be more on the nose. Meeting new friends is no easy task and can be complicated to clearly approach the subject in a queer context without being mistaken for being flirty. So come along to our space and meet some like minded folk.

The space will be set up like speed dating with 5 minute rounds to chat, to help skip past the small talk we will recommend conversational prompts at the beginning of each round so you can dive into getting to know each other. Once the rounds are done we will stick around for casual hang outs and a chance to connect and maybe even go out as a group!
