Join Tanja to make Swiss-style hard cheese that ripens in just a few weeks. With decades of cheese-making experience, Tanja has helped many participants successfully create their own cheese, emphasising a simple and enjoyable approach to food.

In this 2-hour session at our commercial kitchen, Tanja will prepare cheese in advance for sampling. You'll also make Paneer and learn valuable tips from renowned cheese-maker David Asher, shared during his visit last year.

Tanja will boost your confidence to replicate the cheese-making process at home and encourage ingredient experimentation. The session blends demonstrations with hands-on activities, allowing for both engagement and relaxation.

Limited to 12 participants. $35 total per participant. Bookings close Tuesday, 25th March at 2pm. Book here: https://www.riverside.org.nz/event-details/make-swiss-style-hard-cheese-march-2025

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.

Please note that we will be using Riverside Milk which is RAW milk and may not be suitable for everyone's consumption. The Ministry of Primary Industries advises the following: ‘Raw milk may contain microorganisms that can causeserious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70 degree Celsius for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.’
