Lumen Printing Workshop with Lily Dowd: SOLD OUT

Join exhibiting artist Lily Dowd for a hands-on lumen printing workshop exploring cameraless photography held alongside our current exhibition Meditations.

This programme will be held at Toi Pōneke Arts Centre. Lily will discuss the developments she has been making in the use of lumen prints within her own practice, before leading the group for a walk though Wellington Central Park, where we will experiment with different approaches to lumen printing, a process that can yield incredible and unexpected results.

All materials will be provided. Please wear sensible walking shoes. You will have the option to collect your developed prints the following week from The National Library of New Zealand, during exhibition opening hours.

Lily Dowd

Lily Dowd is a photographic artist based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, working with analogue and camera-less techniques of making. Recently graduating with a Master of Fine Arts at Whiti o Rehua School of Art, Massey University Wellington, Dowd is interested in how time can be shown through light, decay and disappearance, questioning the ephemerality through photographic surface.
