Christchurch-based consort Renaissance will be performing with soprano Courtney Hickmott in a varied programme of music from the 16th century with a special focus on music from Italy, France and England. The dulcet sounds of the lute, treble, tenor and bass viols, recorders and Renaissance flute will blend with the brilliant tone of Courtney’s voice in Venetian and English madrigals and French airs do cort.

Come and join us for the 18th International Akaroa Music Festival split between wonderful Akaroa and the ‘The Piano’ event centre in Christchurch.
For the 2025 series, we have created an exciting programme, featuring NZ’s most accomplished musicians as well as fabulous international guest artists.
An array of national and international guest artists will present concerts ranging from classical to jazz, from Irish folk to baroque music, from Opera to Vivaldi’s famous 4 Seasons presented by our resident cello ensemble. We truly think that we have something for everyone in this year’s festival.
As every year, we will bring stellar young talented from NZ and Australia along, performing in a lunchtime concert series at ‘The Piano’ and getting the opportunity to be working with our high calibre international guests such as Magdalena Pikuła from the Warsaw Chamber Opera. We can’t wait to start the festival and are hoping to have you all as our guests.
