Ekphrasis: Creative Writing Workshop for Children

Write a poem or story inspired by current exhibitions on at Toi MAHARA.

This 1.5 hour workshop is taught by local writers Kirsten Le Harivel and Keryn Mells.

Children will be supported to practice an age-old technique – ekphrasis – or the art of writing creative responses to selected artworks on show at Toi MAHARA.

All materials supplied. Maximum of 12 students per class. All children welcome whatever their writing ability!

Workshop 1: 8-12-year-olds, 10:00 AM–11:30 AM
Workshop 2: 13-16 year olds, 12:00 AM–1:30 PM
