Diversity is the final exhibition for the season at the Akaroa Art Gallery. The Diversity exhibition comprises 6 artists from a variety of regions including Banks Peninsula.

Annette Moore, born in Christchurch has lived on the Peninsula on an olive grove for 18years. Annette was first drawn to water colours while living in Sri Lanka but lately has been working with acrylics. While living in Venezuela Annette was able to spend more time painting and it was there she held her first exhibition in 2021. Since living in Robinsons Bay Annette has exhibited in a number of joint exhibitions in Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. Annette's fascination is with the way light plays on objects especially in nature which is reflected in her work. For this exhibition Annette has been exploring using acrylics with both brush and pallet knife to bring her work movement and depth.

Bruce Carvell has always enjoyed but never quite had the time to pursue his creative endeavour until recently. With plenty of encouragement Bruce has lept into the art world and is currently experimenting with different subject matter and styles particularly through people though tends to be drawn towards dark moody skies and water.

Diane Carvell is a former school teacher and fashion designer. Diane started showing her work relatively recently with some success. Diane has won the "Peoples Choice "and The "Luna Currie Award" selected by members and highly commended in the Mainland Art Awards. After many years Diane now has her own purpose built studio. She has always been drawn to the old masters and her genre is predominately "still life oils" with an emphasis on light and shadow while capturing the essence of found objects and nature.

Jackie Matheson has dabbled and painted from a young age and now with more time on her hands is back into her art. Jackie has attended many art classes working with various mediums. She is fascinated with changing lights and colours and has successfully exhibited and sold many of her works.

Jeff Matheson has always had an interest in art and now after many years coaching rugby overseas has more time to paint. Jeff has been successful with exhibiting and selling his art work.`
Joanna Nimmo enjoys the colour, texture form and sometimes all at once. Watercolour was her first medium 40 years ago, however now her medium has changed to acrylics. She lives in Wanaka and her art takes in the grandeur of the multi coloured mountains to require more "grunt" requiring a large brush, big strokes, heaps of colour and plenty of paint. For Joanna her art has been a wonderful journey, peppered with frustration, confusion and the sheer joy to see what she has applied to the canvas is hers and hers alone.
