Disney: The Magic of Animation" will be on display at Tākina, Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre from February 20 to July 13, 2025, marking the exhibition's only appearance in New Zealand.
This iconic showcase spans nearly a century of Disney's animated history, featuring over 600 handpicked sketches, digital animations, and artworks from the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. Visitors can explore the evolution of iconic Disney characters, from Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie (1928) to the latest from Moana 2 (2024).
The exhibition includes interactive activities like animation stations, costumes, and immersive experiences. Get a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the Walt Disney Animation Studios and how the world’s most beloved characters and stories have evolved on paper and screen, from 1928 to today.
