Excitement is building! The Otago Art Society is proud to host the prestigious 2025 Cleveland National Art Awards!
This biennial exhibition, now in its fifth edition, attracts outstanding entries from across New Zealand, competing for a total prize pool of $18,000. Works cover an exceptional range of artistic genre and disciplines, celebrating our country’s artistic diversity.
This year, we received over 550 entries from across the country, with expert judges selecting the final exhibition of works, and the incredible award-winners. The result? A unique opportunity to experience over 200 artworks from across the country—under one roof!
Prizes are awarded across four categories:
- Painting & 2D Media
- Printmaking, Photography & Digital Works
- 3D Media, Sculpture & Jewellery
- Textile, Embroidery & Stitch
The Supreme Award is selected from the category winners, and there is also a ‘Young Artist Award’ for selected artists 25 years old and younger.
Join us in celebrating these exceptionally talented artists and award-winners—and don’t forget to cast your vote for the final award – the People’s Choice Award! The winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition!
Come and experience an extraordinary showcase of New Zealand’s finest contemporary art—we can’t wait to see you there!
A huge thank you to our major sponsor, the Cleveland Charitable Foundation, and our supporting sponsors: Alex Campbell’s Menswear, Highgate Partners, Liquitex, Moray Gallery, The Naylor Family, and Winsor & Newton.
