The Aurum Trio in Waikanae
Barbara Hill (flute) has spent most of her life in Germany but has now returned to Wellington where she has connected with Wellington musicians Michelle Velvin (harp) and Robert Orr (cello) to form this trio. Each of the musicians has a rich history of orchestral and chamber music performance. Their attractive programme has a mix of trios and duos, including original compositions and arrangements from a repertoire which is very well suited to this combination of instruments. The colour and atmosphere of French Impressionist music will be complemented by other works by Bizet, Dohnanyi and Villa-Lobos. The Trio have also commissioned a new work from New Zealand composer Anthony Ritchie (called Fragrantissima) which will add further variety to the performance.
Door sales will be available for the concert or tickets can be bought from Waikanae New World and Moby Dickens Books in Paraparaumu Beach.
