Art Inspires - School Holiday Programme

Inspired b Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery collections and current exhibitions, these hands-on sessions will expand your child’s knowledge of art and science through creative crafting techniques.

Our school holiday programme is suitable for ages 7-13 years.
$45 per session, booking fees may apply. Includes entry to Exscite for your child on the same day. Limited spaces!

Tuesday 15th April
Pop in for Pop Art
Pop art is an art movement that embraces colour and simple forms. Come and explore some pop art by artists from Aotearoa New Zealand and design your own bright pop art works.

Wednesday 16th April
Optical Illusion Arts
Explore the world of optical illusions, learning simple tricks to create some mind-bending artworks to amaze your friends.

Thursday 17th April
Colourful and Creative Collage
Collage uses different textures and tones to develop a work. Explore the exciting and creative world of collage in today’s programme.

Tuesday 22nd April
Cartoon Creations
If you enjoy reading cartoons and graphic novels, come and learn how to design and draw comic forms and create your own unique characters.

Wednesday 23rd April
Welcome to the Menagerie
Do you love learning about all the amazing animals at the zoo? Create a unique and diverse menagerie of cardboard tube animals that will populate your own mini zoo to take home with you.

Friday 24th April
Picture Perfect Printing
Printing is an interesting and fun art practice. In this printing workshop you will discover a variety of techniques to create beautiful, printed artworks for your room

Children will be ready to be collected from 2:45pm onwards. If you are expecting to collect your child earlier, please let us know in the morning when you drop them off.
Children who are collected later than 3pm may occur an added charge of $10 per 10 minutes for extended supervision.
