The World Day of Remembrance is a day dedicated to remembering the many millions of people killed or injured in road crashes around the world.
It's a special day for their families and communities to pay tribute to the loved ones they've lost and the dedicated emergency crews, police and medical professionals who deal with the traumatic aftermath of road death and injury.
Families who have been affected by road crashes, emergency services workers and support professionals are invited to attend a short memorial event in Orewa. The event will include a memorial ceremony with readings and poems, followed by the lighting up of a Norfolk Pine tree on Orewa Reserve which will stay lit every evening until the New Year. Refreshments will be provided.
Tickets are not required, you can just turn up, but registering helps us to have an idea of numbers. If you are planning to attend, or have any queries about the event, please email info@brake.org.nz.
