Nairn Street Preservation Society presents a wire looping workshop with artist Birgit Moffat.

Learn the tactile art of wire looping and create a small taonga to take home with you. All materials provided.

Tickets include tī & kawhe.

Booking is essential.

About Birgit Moffatt

Born in 1975 in East Berlin, Birgit stepped into the world of art after moving to New Zealand in 2011. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree majoring in 2017, Birgit now works from her Ōtaki Gorge studio, hosting regular workshops

Influenced by nature and toi Māori, her work includes exhibitions like In Dialogue with Papatūānuku (2021) and Safe Space (2022) reflects her deep connections with the environment.

Using natural materials, often found during walks, she often creates through weaving, dyeing, and hand manipulation. Lately, her mahi has shifted towards the three-dimensional form.
