Shake, shimmy and groove to the soulful rhythms of West Africa, learning basics/getting back to basics! All are welcome. There will be a follow the leader warm up, learning traditional and creative movements and choreographies. Accompanied by live drumming with Simon Elwell (Djembe NZ, Kubatana) and Susanna Hay alternating weeks. Ending in a relaxing stretch so you can unwind and leave feeling great! This is your chance to release tension from your week, have fun, connect to community and move your body in a supportive inclusive environment. Jenny is also a dance movement therapist (DTAA prov. Prof) and a Dru Yoga instructor, and brings some of these elements into her teaching. At this stage, this class is only available as a 4 week block - if you need to make up a session, you are welcome to come along to one of our Thursday night community classes during the duration of the block.
