New Zealand’s preeminent youth theatre company will premiere Wendy, The Peter Pan Musical, a reimagining of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, on the Hamilton stage in October hot off the heels of last year’s highly successful Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR.

Writers-composers Jonathan Alver artistic director and James Doy MNZM Co-Founder, Musical Supervisor as well as Chief Executive of the National Youth Theatre (NYT), have honoured the classic story whilst bringing it alive for a new generation.

In this captivating rendition, Wendy takes centre stage as she charts a path in Neverland from youthful innocence to changing the world alongside the much-adored characters of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook and the Lost Boys alongside a revival of forgotten characters Never Bird and the Mermaid.

Featuring original songs, a colourful and exhilarating production showcasing original choreography , colourful costumes, and stunning lighting and digital effects, the National Youth Theatre’s premiere production is destined to become part of the musical theatre canon.

NYT's production has over 50 talented young performers from across the Waikato Region all set to take to the stage this October school holidays, where they will bring to life the much loved characters.
