Join us for an exclusive Wellington Organ Proms concert featuring Chris Hainsworth on the Fernie Organ and presented by Dame Malvina Major. Sunday 10 March at 2:30pm at St Mary of the Angels in Wellington

Hainsworth, the Principal Organist of Beziers Cathedral, France, marks his return to Wellington with a delightful blend of music and observational wit, taking us on a journey from Dubois to Mendelssohn and Bach, building to his glorious “Megalomaniacal Improvisation” on themes suggested by the audience.

Described by at least one reviewer as “New Zealand’s most entertaining classical organist”, Hainsworth has established himself at the forefront of concert organists everywhere, with entertaining, informative and thought-provoking performances that should not be missed.

Entry is by cash donation with 100% of proceeds going to the Maxwell Fernie Dame Malvina Major Foundation Award established to honour the memory of acclaimed New Zealand organist, choral conductor and teacher, Maxwell Fernie with an annual award supporting young New Zealand organists to further their education or training.
