The Inaugural Waiheke Chamber Music Festival 2024 showcases the impeccable artistry of world-class musicians with the stunning backdrop of Waiheke Island in a harmonious blend of musical brilliance, visual art, nature over the weekend of April 20-21 in 2024.
The performances take place at the gorgeous Gabriella Lewenz Gallery which perfectly frames the natural beauty of the island with 360-degree views of the Hauraki Gulf.
Featured NZ performers include Co-Artistic Directors Amalia Hall, violin and Tania Frazer, oboe as well as guest artists: Lara Hall violin, Robert Ashworth Viola, Callum Hall cello and Grayson Masefield accordion.
Amalia Hall is one of New Zealand's leading violin soloists as NZTrio's violinist, Orchestra Wellington's Concertmaster, and regular performs as a soloist with orchestras around the world, including Europe, the UK, USA, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, Mexico, Honduras and South Africa.
Australian oboist of NZ heritage, Co-Artistic Director Tania Frazer has had an impressive career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral principal spanning 3 continents and a lasting legacy as the Artistic Director of acclaimed Australian chamber ensemble, Southern Cross Soloists and the Bangalow Music Festival.
Waiheke Island-based artist and festival host, Gabriella Lewenz, whose artworks are inspired by the beauty of the Island, has her works exhibited in galleries and private collections throughout NZ, the EU, USA, Canada, UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and Singapore.
