Wāhine o Waitākere Exhibition Opening

The West Coast Gallery proudly presents this formidable group exhibition 'Wāhine o Waitākere'. This impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, jewellery, photography, ceramics and printmaking are just a few of the artistic genres that will be on show.

This vibrant group exhibition recognises and celebrates women artists who have always had a strong representation in the Waitakere region. Inspiration comes from not only the wild and rugged environment of West Auckland but also from cultural and climatic events. This landscape resonates with the artists and deeply influences their work.
