Experience the creative energy of mana wāhine in this collaboratively devised dance work in development, directed by Gabrielle Thomas. ŪKAIPŌ is an exploration of movement influenced by a mother's power to manifest life. Like Puanga is to Matariki, mothers are the guiding star for their pēpi. The modern landscape they navigate, full of quirks and qualms, ignites a desire to connect back to whakapapa and whenua. Watch the contemporary storytelling of these wāhine toa come to life through the eclectic art form of contemporary dance.
