Mistaken identities, evil adversaries, plot twists, and absurd excesses are in store for Butterfly Creek Theatre Troupe’s final production for 2024, The Foreigner by Larry Shue.

Winner of two Obie Awards, two Outer Critic Circle Awards and named the Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production of 1984, this modern farce remains a staple of regional and community theatre.

Director Suzy Cain, (along with Assistant Director Nicola Tod) has assembled a fantastic cast and Cain is looking forward to working on the play again. She did the role of Catherine about 30 years ago at the Riverside Theatre, Vero Beach, Florida - “I loved the play from the first read-through back then – not only is it a hilarious play, full of ridiculous circumstances, witty dialogue, and great characters, but it deals with some timeless themes – believing in yourself, honestly is the best policy in the end, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil. Charlie Baker (the main character) is someone we can all see bits our ourselves in – shy, insecure, wanting to be left alone for now….who blossoms over the timeframe of the play into someone who feels confident, smart, and accepted. “

Don’t miss this off-beat comedy that is sure to tickle your funny bone!

Warning: this production contains a comic depiction of the Ku Klux Klan
