Join Ngati Poneke Māori Arts in celebrating Matariki at Pipitea Marae.

Immerse yourself in a week filled with traditional and contemporary Māori events, art, culture, and community.

Ngati Poneke Maori arts are excited to host Virtuoso Strings.

The Virtuoso Strings Charitable Trust was founded in 2013 as a way to make stringed instrument music tuition more accessible to rangatahi. Inclusive music programmes were designed to build confidence and foster excellence through innovative teaching practices which elevate the role of group music-making and goal setting.

The Virtuoso Strings Charitable Trust seeks to create a thriving and supportive environment which nurtures the talent of all young students, helping them develop strong peer and community connections and build an enduring sense of self-worth. Their vision is for every orchestra in the country to become an authentic reflection of the socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic diversity of Aotearoa.

This event is part of Te Whakanui i a Matariki, proudly hosted by Ngati Poneke Maori Arts. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more information on our other events: @ngatiponekemaoriarts.
