Songwriters Showcase #97

The 10 November features Hanne Jostensen, Dave Murphy andJjanet Muggeridge, Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo, and Helen Dorothy.

Hanne Jostensen - Hanne Jøstensen is a Wellington based singer-songwriter, originally from Norway. Expect an intimate solo-set with carefully crafted lyrics, evocative vocals, and delicate keyboard arrangements

Dave Murphy and Janet Muggeridge - Together, Dave and Janet play their own brand of music. As a couple, they combine a formidable musical skillset. Their sound is underpinned by Murphy’s driving fingerstyle acoustic guitar, and huge earthy vocals. Muggeridge adds spice to the mix with her shimmering harmonies, and mandolin played in her own style.

Helen Dorothy - Helen Dorothy delivers “pithy, observational lyrics and memorable tunes” bound together in "beautifully crafted, intelligent songs”. With clear vocals and expressive guitar work, she paints with words and sound, taking us into a personal landscape that transforms the everyday into something unique.

Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo - Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo is a quirky, melodic, organic, colourful synth/pop/rock band based in Wellington. Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo have a retro sound layered in vocal harmonies, lush synths, over driven guitars and riffing bass lines. Our sounds and songs are inspired by a colourful life and the cultural influences of Newtown.
