Discover homesteading skills from the past and experience some of the hard work done every day, in hands-on activities and workshops with costumed guides. Activities are generally 20-30 min sessions and are a great way to extend your visit.
With outdoor games and crafts. Bring a picnic or grab lunch from the Homestead café and make a day of it!
Programme:
- 'Fetch Water, Chop Wood' - Tuesdays 10:30
- 'Make Butter' - Tuesdays 11:30-3pm (drop-in)
- 'Grind Wheat, Make Dough' - Wednesdays 10:30
- 'Gifts from the Garden' - Wednesdays 11:30 - 1 hour workshop. Booking recommended. $10pp
- 'Make Candles' - Thursdays 11am. $6pp (on ANZAC day this session will be at 2pm)
- 'Prepare a Campfire' - Fridays 11am*
- 'Fetch Water, Chop Wood' - Saturdays & Sundays 11am
- 'Make Butter' - Sundays 11:30-3pm (drop-in)
Admission: adult $15, senior/student $12, child $7, child under 5 free. Holiday Pass Special- x3 visits for an adult and a child $40.
Open Tues-Sun 10am-4pm. Last admission at 3pm. Closed until 1pm on ANZAC day Thurs 25 April. Note: on 14 April butter making takes place on a Live Day. Different admission rates apply. To book workshops contact: village@historicalvillage.org or 576 9506.
