Get excited for the Auckland Philharmonia’s upcoming Opera in Concert performance of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde and join us for Phil Opera Fest!
Phil Opera Fest kicks off with two free, educational, engaging, and fun events that celebrate Tristan und Isolde and Wagner. Don't miss this opportunity to go beyond the stage and dive deeper into the music that reshaped opera forever!
Come along to our fascinating Wagner Lecture, a lecture that is presented by Dr David Chisholm, Head of Music at the University of Auckland. Enticingly titled I Love You to Death: Sex and Consequence in Tristan und Isolde, this lecture is perfect for opera enthusiasts and people who are simply interested in learning more.
Or get involved with a Sunday Singalong with Wagner and learn the famous Wedding March from Wagner’s Lohengrin in this free event with NZ Opera! Meet new friends and re-discover your love of opera by singing this dazzling chorus, led by a conductor and accompanied by a pianist and a super squad of pro-opera singers.
