Come and have a lovely high tea, while hearing stories from Te Papa’s textile collection and the fascinating stories that fabrics, dresses and quilts reveal across time.
Speaker Claire Regnault is Curator at Te Papa and Author of Dressed: Fashionable Dress in Aotearoa New Zealand 1840 to 1910 (Te Papa Press 2021).
This event is also a celebration of the 15-year anniversary of Fabric-a-brac - a fabric and sewing market that raises money for local Hospice. Now in ten locations around New Zealand, the event has raised $160,000 for Hospice to date. All proceeds from this event will go to Hospice New Zealand.
Thanks to The Food Lab for their generous sponsorship of some of the food items, and for helping out on the day.
Also thanks to Stitchbird, JET, Minerva Textile Bookshop, FELT, Miss Maude and The Fine Cloth Company for their sponsorship of spot prizes.
A delicious high tea will be served. Come along with some friends and make it a morning out!
