Master Class: Classic Medicinal Tinctures Made At Home

The Master Class is conducted by the Distillery’s Master Distiller Alex Kirichuk. The Master Class duration is 2 x 45 minute sessions separated by a break of 30 minutes for refreshments, plus optional additional 30 minutes in the end for Q&A plus shopping.

The Master Class covers the following topics:
• Medicinal Tinctures according to Pharmacopeia
• Ethanol (Strong Alcohol) as the best natural Solvent, Extractor, Preservative and Carrier
• Characteristics of Alcohol suitable for making Medicinal Tinctures, and its sources
• The significance of Alcohol Strength by Volume (ABV) for technology of Tincture Making
• Suitable botanical sources for Medicinal Tincture making at home
• The most practical methods of Medicinal Tincture making at home
• Common mistakes of Medicinal Tinctures making at home
• Health & Safety considerations during Medicinal Tincture making at home
• Practical demonstration of tincture samples crafted at the Distillery
• Safe consumption of homemade Medicinal Tinctures guidelines
• Shelf life and proper storage for different types of Medicinal Tinctures
• Applicable New Zealand regulations for home-made remedies

The price of $150 (incl. GST) per person includes the Master Class limited to no more than 20 participants, refreshments, free secure on-site car park and Wi-Fi.
