Lynn Kelly has been making jewellery since 1988. She works with a variety of materials but is especially attracted to the synthesis of organic and traditional jewellery.
“I have always been fascinated by fossils and this interest increased when I found out that they were not as they appear, dried insects and plants but simply impressions or traces of these, almost like a shadow of the thing. Cameos feel like a similar impression but of a person.”
Lynn Kelly, crafts exquisite pieces after the distinctive forms of ferns, seed pods and flowers in metal and occasionally incorporating polished slices of fossilised plants that end up looking like natures cameos (she) evokes the mystery and the beauty of nature with absolute precision."
