Swing Riot is running open level partnered dance classes every Tuesday night.
Our amazing teachers will run over the basics each week that you'll need for that class PLUS cover content that caters to all levels. We love this structure as it's a fun way of meeting everyone in the dance scene.
What is Lindy hop? Lindy hop is an African American dance which started in the 1930s in Harlem, New York. It developed from the 1920s Charleston and had its peak during the 1930s and 40s. It was widely danced until the late 1950s, had a resurgence in the late 90s, and has been going strong since then! It is a social partner dance that is playful and full of joy. It's all about having fun, communicating with your dance partner and enjoying the music. Some basic steps, and you'll be dancing.
Do I need to bring a partner? No! Just bring yourself and an ability to have a laugh at yourself along the way. We'll sort the rest.
