Latin America & Spain Film Festival

The Latin America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF) is a cultural event that aims to bring together Latin America, Spain, and other New Zealand communities through the big screen.

The Wellington-based LASFF travels all over New Zealand with the support of academics, cultural associations, and students. The University of Waikato is delighted to sponsor the LASFF in 2024 and is the host for Waikato-based activities.

We are thrilled to announce the 22nd edition of LASFF in New Zealand. This year, the embassies of Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, and Spain have collaborated to bring an extraordinary selection of films to 12 cities, including Wellington, Auckland, and Hamilton. Running from early September to late December, LASFF offers a unique opportunity to experience the richness of Latin American and Spanish cultures through cinema.
