Lansdowne Trail Walk

This walk takes us along the beautiful Lansdowne trail in Masterton with local expert, Joseph Potangaroa. Some of the historical highlights we pass on this trail walk at the northern end of Masterton include the remains of the old Lansdowne pumphouse, the Hansells factory, which has been operating from the same site for over 80 years, and the Opaki water race. In addition, Joseph will share his wealth of knowledge about the land the trail meanders through, the hidden lake, and native plants. As we continue round the loop, you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Masterton and the Tararua mountains as the sun begins to set in the west.
