The Incubator

Kim Fifield currently lives and works in Tauranga. She holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries and is currently undertaking a master’s in fine arts at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design.

Fifield is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice – encompassing décollage, painting, drawing, photography, design, and installation – currently explores ideas relating to bodies of water, both geographical and biological, and connectedness over time through the flow of water cycles.

Her research interests focus on futures thinking, interconnected systems, and crossovers between science and art. Fifield’s practice is process based and she enjoys experimenting with non-traditional materials, particularly algae-based bioplastic, and finding workable ways to incorporate them in her practice.

Opening preview Friday 19th January 2024, 5.30pm to 7.00pm in the Incubator lounge. Everyone welcome.
On display in The Incubator Gallery from the 20th January to the 10th February 2024. Open 10am -3pm Monday to Saturday.
