K Day is a unique day that has been a fixture in the Taylors Mistake calendar since 1918. K Day isn’t just a day when the Kesteven Cup and the Black and White Cup are contested, it’s a day to have a picnic and a social catch up.
K day was traditionally social and team based. The competition format is still team orientated to this day.
Come and watch the best of the best from around Canterbury compete in relays, surf ski and other water events along with the crowd favourite of beach flags. Bring a picnic and some gold coins for the Club fundraising sausage sizzle and raffles.
Taylors Mistake has a public carpark, public toilets, showers and changing rooms. There is an access ramp on the side of the Surf club enabling a Birds Eye view of the competition. An active patrol is present from 11am-5pm so you can swim between the flags safely.
