Our popular weeknight classes are the best way for beginners to get into jewellery making in a lively, warm and friendly environment. It starts on Thurs 24 October and runs for 8 weeks until Thurs 12 December, 5.30-8pm.

Beginners: Cabochon stone set ring. The stone setting process teaches you many fundamental techniques in one project!

We start with basic ring making in copper or brass, students will learn measuring, texturing, shaping, cutting and soldering.
Then we move on to making a practice ring set with a cabochon stone (cabochon means it has a flat bottom and a smooth domed top). Once your first setting is completed you can move to working in silver and produce another stone set ring with more interesting design elements.

Advanced: Chain Making and other projects.

Included in the class fee are copper and brass for practising on, up to 8 grams of sterling silver, an extra $8 for stones and fine silver and all consumables such as sandpaper, solder and chemicals. Extra metals and materials are available for purchase in the studio.

Our booking system asks for payment to be made via credit card, Afterpay or PayPal on booking. If you do not have access to these payment methods or need to pay your course fee over time please email us to arrange this.
