This joyful collaboration will feature Indian ragas with tabla master Basant Madhur and his daughter Sargam, and music from the Irish tradition with internationally acclaimed musician Jon Sanders and his daughter Jenny Os.
The show will be in two halves with a format for each which showcases either Indian or Irish music and then blends into a fusion of rhythm and melody.
Both the Indian and Irish cultures share a tradition of families making music together and it is a thrill to both Basant and Jon to be taking part in this Arts on Tour NZ national tour with their daughters.
India Meets Ireland showcases the colourful contrasts and musical magic created by these two cultures through their ragas and reels and reveals that there is more than a little common ground between them!
