Film Screening & Talk
Come along for a special screening of Hou Rongo: Reviving Moriori Culture, a 20-minute documentary that brings viewers onto the rugged, remote and reverential landscape of Rēkohu Chatham Island and into the lives of those who are leading a cultural renaissance by dispelling myths, reclaiming their heritage and rediscovering what it truly means to be Moriori.

Produced by Brady Clarke through the University of Otago’s Department of Science Communication, the screening will be followed by a behind-the-scenes talk and Q & A session with the film’s executive producer, Gianna Savoie.

This event is being offered alongside the exhibition Hou Rongo – Moriori | Music | Manawa, which will feature in the Beautiful Science Gallery from 14 September – 27 October 2024.

3pm, Saturday 21 September
Barclay Theatre
