This is a hot topic for many. Prof Tracey McIntosh (Ngāi Tūhoe) will do her bit to reduce the heat and add some light to this Spirited Conversation.
Tracey MacIntosh is a professor at the University of Auckland and Chief Science Advisor to the Ministry of Social Development. Her research has focussed on crime and marginalisation, social harm reduction, Māori and incarceration, State institutions and gangs.
She was a member of Te Uepū Hāpai I te Ora/ Safe and Effective Justice Advisory Group, and co-authored the report for the Office of the Prime Minister's Chief Science Advisor on Aotearoa's adult gang environment. Tracey will be live online leading this spirited conversation based on her research.
These monthly "Spirited Conversations" are presented by Durham Street Methodists, as part of our commitment to bringing critical thinking, and ethical and spiritual insights to important issues of the day for the city and its diverse people. https://aldersgate.org.nz
