Placing Māori and Pasifika at the forefront and asking them to interrogate their relationship with ancestors and descendants, this collaboration with bad apple finds provocation in the question “What kind of ancestor do you want to be?”.
Taking lead of the conversation, Sinead Overbye (Te Whānau a Kai, Ngāti Porou, Te Atiawa) is joined by Rangimarie Sophie Jolley (Waikato-Tainui) and Herbee Bartley (Sāmoa, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Kuki Airani) to look forward at those who will look back upon us. In a time of environmental catastrophe, attacks on Te Tiriti and political disregard for minority communities, these future LGBTQ+, MVPFAFF+ and takatāpui ancestors attempt to reconcile what we can do for our descendants.
This event is Free to attend. You can turn up on the day, or head to Verb's website, find the event page and register your spot.
