Join visual artist Xin Cheng for a meditative workshop where you will repurpose local organic material offcuts into your own super cosy felt slippers!
Felt, made from wool is the oldest known textile originating in central Asia and has many traditional practical uses such as shelter, clothing, and footwear. Felt is a wonderful, sustainable, soft-yet-sturdy material that is often used for crafting artwork, toys, and handmade gifts.
During this two-day workshop will teach you, how to:
1. Deconstruct organic woollen mattress scraps (thanks Innature!).
2. Learn the basics of felt-making and possibilities for colours and patterns.
3. Make a pair of felt slippers tailored to your feet.
