Are you a parent of one of them “youths”? Does your teen want to play Dungeons & Dragons since seeing the D&D movie? Or maybe you play and want to get your kids into it?

Bring them along to the Waikato Role-Playing Guild's youth social on Sunday 14th April at Melting Moment. This will be a chance for them to meet like minded individuals and organize games, or learn more about the hobby. Kids, teens and parents are welcome, and we ask that under 16s are accompanied by an adult.

- What is a TTRPG?
Table top role-playing games are mostly played with friends, and usually require pen, paper and dice to play. You have probably heard of Dungeons & Dragons, but thousands of different systems exist. From simple romps to complex campaigns games can cover topics such as drag racing racoons, eldritch horrors, sci fi, fantasy, dystopias, TV shows, and even Carly Rae Jepson. They all need the players to use their imagination to drive the story and make the game come alive. TTRPGs can be great for kids - they improve social skills, promote team work and involve maths!

- What is the Waikato Role-Playing Guild?
WRPG is a Hamilton based society made to bring together players and game runners alike, to help them find others to play with and to welcome and support new people into the hobby in the Waikato. We have been around for over 5 years now, with game focused and social events running every month, and an active Discord server for people to talk about all things TTRPG related. Check out our Facebook page for more information about us and our events.
